Mugak Biennial

The Basque Country International Architecture Biennial, MUGAK, is an open and free multi-format cultural event.
It is a citizens' appointment with architecture organised
and promoted by the Department of Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport of the Basque Government.
The 2021 edition of MUGAK takes place from 27 October
to 27 November in the three Basque capitals.

This third edition, curated by the architect Jose Angel Medina Murua, will focus on the theme of 'Heritage and modernity', with the central exhibition dedicated to the architect Carme Pinós as the main protagonist held at the Euskadi Institute of Architecture in San Sebastián.

The programme of exhibitions, installations, workshops, conferences and debates designed to bring architecture closer to the public and explore the limits - Mugak in Basque - of architecture is coordinated by the Basque Institute of Architecture and is built with the active participation of the School of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country, the Official Basque-Navarre Association of Architects, the construction clusters Eraikune and Habic and different cultural associations of the Basque Country. The third edition
of Mugak has the collaboration of the Provincial Council
of Gipuzkoa, the Provincial Council of Alava, and the City Councils of SanSebastian and Bilbao.
